GMM: So tell us a bit about yourself:
My name Valerie Ann and I’m a Model/ Health Coach from Clearwater, Fl. My nationality make up is Cherokee Native American, English & German. Pretty exotic. My measurements are 34-26-36. Five words that best describe me would be: determined, honest, creative, youthful and strong. I’m a Taurus which means I’m outgoing, bold and of course, strong. others compliment me most on my drive not to give up or give into plastic surgery. Or to never give up my dreams as a single mother. I would say or add that, my drive to make my mark in the swimsuit/ fitness modeling is right up there too!
Tell us about your modeling career?
I did a little for fun and pageants as a young kid. But really got into it again at age 24 by simply filling out a form to model in a box at my local mall. I’m currently signed by Push Models, but I’m not exclusive. I mostly book my own gigs by networking on my own. I love being a model because I enjoy expressing my self creatively in front of the camera, acting out my own vision. Next I love new places I get to travel too! Something funny on a shoot? Nothing to funny, but I once did a body paint shoot in a deep woods, where I was climbing tree and actually bitten by a tic! I enjoy shooting fitness, swimsuit, and editorials. I enjoy attention from modeling, at the end of the day it doesn’t feel so bad.
Where do you want your career to be in two years?
More developed in fitness. Triple my amount of magazine features. Become a IBMS finalist!
What are some of your hidden talents other than modeling?
Creative director, singing & acting.
Take us through your getting ready to model routine?
The night before I always soak in a hot salt scrub bath. Then a facial mask then I always pack for my shoot and head to bed early.
What is the best info you can give a new model?
Always know for sure what you are willing to do and not before a shoot. Always do your research before shooting with anyone. Don’t be afraid to ask for references, always check them. Always be prompt for shoots, hair, and make up. Time is money.
As a model, what would you say has been your biggest obstacle?
Being Short 🙁 Some people have such a negative view of this industry, and it’s always hard to look at the comments some people write.
If you had to walk way form modeling today, what memory would you take from it?
Every thing. It’s all made me who I am today.
If you did walk away, how would you like to be remembered?
As a Fitness Model.
What, if anything, did we leave out that you want your fans to know?
