Imagine our delight when we received an email from Maddy G! We got an email from Maddy wanting to know if we wanted to feature her…umm YES! Maddy is a true sweetheart and a joy to speak to. We are glad we get the chance to get to know her and can’t wait for you to know her as well:

GMM: Maddy, give us the goods on you and leave nothing out!

Maddy G: I’m Maddy of course. I’m an Office Manager and Model from Australia. My nationality is a mix of Australian and Italian and my stats are: Height: 167cm Weight: 46kgs Chest: (For those of us on the metric system that breaks down to an impressive 35inch Hips: 81inch Dress Size:6-8). My five words to describe me would be: Confident, bubbly, witty, sarcastic, fun and I’m an Aquarius. Like many other Aquarius’ I am very strong minded which allows me to overcome a lot of challenges throughout life. I am also soft at heart which often leads to misinterpretations of people. I personally think my best asset is my personality, definitely! People comment on how much they adore my personality. But my big brown eyes or my dark features will often get a mention.

GMM:How did you get started in modeling?

I helped out a friend when he started up a business and went in search of a model for a photoshoot he was preparing.

GMM: Are you signed with an agency?

Maddy G: No, I prefer to freelance.

GMM:What do you enjoy most about modeling?

Maddy G: The atmosphere. It doesn’t matter what you’re wearing (if anything), the camera always makes you feel like you’re in a completely different world. A good photographer will make the gig fun.

GMM: What is the funniest thing to happen to you on a shoot?

Maddy G: Misjudging a wave coming at me from behind. It came a lot sooner than I had thought, which gave the photographer a glorious mid-action shot as the waves sweeped over my bum.

GMM: What are the top three things you like to shoot?

Maddy G: Streetwear, high end glam, and definitely anything where I get to dress up.

GMM: Do you enjoy the constant attention and adoration that comes with being a glamour model?

Maddy G: Yes and no. Don’t get me wrong, everyone loves to have people tell them how good they look. But following those people, are the people who DON’T want to see what you’re doing. And those people kind of ruin it for you until you learn to move past it.

GMM:Where do you want your career to be in two years?

Maddy G: I would love to have more exposure in the modelling world. I love to experience different things and meet new people, and travelling to model is definitely up there on my bucket list.

GMM: What are some of your hidden talents other than modeling?

Maddy G: I am weirdly good at bowling, even though I don’t like the sport at all. I am also a secret game nerd- which can be considered a talent to the some people in the gaming industry.

GMM: Take us through your getting ready to model routine?

Maddy G: Model prepping usually happens a few days before the event. Tanning, nails, hair, and making sure skin stays flawless usually happens 2-3 days prior. The morning of the shoot, I will get up quite early and snack on something- preferably fruit or something that doesn’t make me bloat. I will pack and prepare any clothes/jewelry that might need to be taken to set. Then I travel to my MUA who will do my makeup prior to the shoot before taking off to the set. This is usually a set routine, unless the gig provided a MUA for me.

GMM: What is the best info you can give a new model?

Maddy G: It’s not all about looking good and being idolized for what you do. It’s long early mornings, long days, pain in your muscles for holding the same position for so long, its feeling hungry and distressed on some days when the images aren’t coming out right. And all of this shows in your work and physical appearance. Look after yourself. Rest. It’s honestly needed to great a great image.

GMM: As a model, what would you say has been your biggest obstacle?

Maddy G: Overcoming body image. I know I’m not a size 6 model, I’m also under the average size to be a catwalk model. But I learned to embrace the aspects of modelling that I excel in and push for the career I want through that.

GMM: If you had to walk away from modeling today, what memory would you take from it?

Maddy G: The time and effort it takes to create such a simple, beautiful images. Most people think this industry is glitz and glamour when it’s not. It’s long hours, hot/freezing cold weather, sitting hours for hair, makeup, tanning. It’s nice to pamper yourself. But when you’re fitting it in with a full-time job and photoshoots taking up the only time of the week that you have free, it can really get exhausting. Some people don’t appreciate that. But it’s totally worth it for the beautiful images that come with it.

GMM:If you had to walk away, what would you like to be remembered most for?

Maddy G: For the bubbly personality that I’ve tried to portray in my images. I would like to be known as that “nice, fun” girl. Not the typical stuck-up model who are currently taking up the modelling industry.

GMM:What, if anything, did we leave out that you want your fans to know?

Maddy G: Don’t let other people take away your inner confidence. There’s nothing more beautiful than confidence, and that shows in any image. And no person in the world should take that from you, ever.
