LA Model Haruka Salt

Haruka Salt, the fresh face and your Los Angeles girl next door model that is mixed Japanese, Filipino, Irish, and German. One of the reasons we love Haruka is because she is a very professional and educated woman. We all know beauty comes from within but when it’s equally beautiful on the outside, well then I guess you have perfection which clearly describes Haruka Salt. Haruka is very sexy with her exotic look, long hair, silky smooth skin and flawless curvy physique. Shooting with her was a cinch because she knows how to work the camera. She is an all around A+ model and we know she will be turning heads after this exclusive photoshoot with Glamour Model Magazine. Occupation? Student and Hustler (Retail)

Where are you originally from?

San Diego, CA

What is your nationality?

Japanese, Filipino, Irish and German

What are your measurements?

33B – 25”- 35”

Give us 5 words that you think best describe you?

Passionate, Ambitious, Confident, Free-spirited, Sensitive

Your Astrological and how would you describe your personality in that regard?

Aries/Dragon. Double Fire. My personality fits both these signs through and through.

What would you say is your best asset?

My tendency to always be an optimist even when I don’t necessarily see a situation as positive. Physically? My long legs.

What do others compliment you on the most?

My legs and the fact that I have a visually symmetrical face.

How did you get started in modeling?

I started working for a friend who owns an anime and manga distribution company because he needed a model for product shots. I realized I had a passion for it. And I wanted to be a Graphic Designer at the time, so I saw modeling as the perfect avenue for networking. I created a Model Mayhem account about 3 years ago, networked my butt off, and it kind of just took off from there.

Are you signed with an agency?

No, not at the moment.

What do you enjoy most about modeling?

I would say, capturing a story and the perfect moment. That is, when collaboration turns into a dance between photographer and model where the end result is a beautiful image. This doesn’t happen as often as I wish, but it’s almost magical when it does. And of course getting to work with amazing companies and/or clothing designers, and being able to supplement my retail addiction :P.

What are the top three things you like to shoot?

As in styles? Editorial, Beauty and Fashion.

Do you enjoy the constant attention and adoration that comes with being a glamour model?

I wouldn’t say I get constant attention and adoration. But I’m oblivious to people’s attention towards me anyway.

Where do you want your career to be in two years?

Either to do what I’m studying to do, which is to be in the Public Relations field. I preferably want to work for an agency whose clients are mainly involved with the travel or fashion industries. Or to continue to pursue modeling and take it as far as I can go, as long as I can go. Really, I just want to find a way to make money that I enjoy and that makes me content.

What are some of your hidden talents other than modeling?

I’m an academic over-achiever, makeup artistry because I mostly do my own for shoots, and graphic design. I’m sure there’s others I’m not thinking of at the moment.

Take us through your getting ready to model routine?

Well, without getting down to the nitty gritty details, I always make sure I know where I’m meeting the photographer (and team) the night before, as well as if I need to bring a wardrobe. I get plenty of sleep, workout, and make myself as camera ready as possible. The day of I make sure to be punctual, wear loose clothing to avoid clothing lines, and eat a small meal before the shoot.

What is the best info you can give a new model?

Be yourself. People will find out who you are, and a trained eye can tell through your photos anyway. So be true to yourself.

As a model, what would you say has been your biggest obstacle?

Probably my height. I’m 5’4.5” which means I tend to be too tall for some petite jobs, and too short for agency standard. Thankfully I have long legs, so I tend to look tall in my photos. But it has definitely limited the amount and type of work I do.

If you had to walk away from modeling today, what memory would you take from it?

The fact that I was able to have experiences that not everyone gets to enjoy, like working with clothing companies, magazines and the traveling. I’ll probably be that grandmother who tells stories to her grandchildren’s friends about how I was once “cool” and “attractive”!.

If you had to walk away, what would you like to be remembered most for?

For being versatile, creative, and damn good at what I do!

Let’s switch gears to learn more about what makes you tick.

What type of man are you attracted to?

I honestly don’t think I have a particular type anymore. But having a similar background or interests, and musical tastes help a ton. Music especially because it’s always been a huge part of my life, and if we don’t connect there I can’t see you in my life.

What trait do you think is most important in determining someone’s attractiveness?

It’s all about confidence, sincerity, ambition, sense of humor, and respect. Of course physical attractiveness is important, but it can only go so far and doesn’t last forever.

What personal qualities do you think the man of your future should have?

See above. And he has to have his life together.

What body part of a man do you think is sexiest?

The abs or arms. I can’t decide, so both!

When it comes to your taste in men, pick one: “the bad boy” or “the nice guy”?

The nice guy, they don’t always finish last.

How does a man keep you interested once he’s caught your attention?

Keep me on my toes. I love spontaneity and going on adventures. I like reliability and having some idea of what my everyday will be like with him. But at the same time, I like surprises. And if he can keep up with me, even better.

How do you show him that he has your attention?

How do you show him that he has your attention? I can be a bit of an ice queen, and I’m totally awkward in this department. The guy normally has to make the first move, a sort of shot in the dark. Otherwise I’m way too shy!

When it comes to men, what are some of your turn offs?

Arrogance, being indecisive and flaky, ignorance, lack of ambition and passion, etc.

What’s the most memorable thing a guy has done to get your attention?

A guy serenaded me in the middle of a sidewalk when I was walking to a restaurant with my family. That was the most embarrassing.

In contrast, what was the worse thing?

Cat calls. I can’t stand cat calls.

Do you have a quote that you live by?

I have many I live by….like:
“What other people think of me is not my business.”

- RuPaul

and
“Never take it seriously, you never get hurt. Never get hurt, you can always have fun. And if you ever get lonely, you just go to the record store and visit all your friends.”
-Cameron Crowe

What is your favorite city?

It’s a tossup between New York and San Francisco

What is your favorite sports team?

I’m not into sports.

When you surf the web, what is your favorite site?

I don’t really have one. Honestly when school is in session I barely have time to surf the web except for Model Mayhem, Zivity, social media / email, and my school’s webpage.
