Shooting, Models, Locations
GMM: Do you have a favorite location to shoot?
Warren G: As long as it’s secluded and different. Running water, like a waterfall, is also nice.
GMM: Do you bring Hairstylist and Make up artist to your shoots?
Warren G: When I can, yes.
GMM: Do models try to play you for gimmees? If so, does it work?
Warren G: Yes. If I think I’ll enjoy shooting, I play along.
GMM: Do you find it challenging to be around such beautiful models?
Warren G: Not at all. They’re just people.
GMM: Do you use model mayhem?
Warren G: Yes.
GMM: What is your favorite social network?
Warren G: Facebook.
GMM: Do you think photographers get a bad rap?
Warren G: Everyone gets a bad rap.
GMM: What is the worst experience you can remember from a photoshoot?
Warren G: Hours wasted due to lateness. But actually *at* the shoot? “I brought my boyfriend, I thought you could do some couples photos…”
GMM: Do you see a solid career for the bikini models?
Warren G: Question is above my pay grade.
GMM: Is there anything you want to express now that people should know about this business?
Warren G: Get into it because you either want to make art, or make money. If you’re both an artist and a businessperson, you’ll be fine. If you’re only one or the other, you’ll be fine as long as you know your limitations. I’m an artist, not a businessman, so I concentrate on having fun – the fun of making art and meeting people and going places. If you get into it to meet women and enjoy the hip cachet of being a photographer, you’ll become very bitter very quickly.
GMM: Is there anything we haven’t asked that you want others to know about you? the industry? your favorite cereal?
Warren G: When it Edmonton, for the best in selection and service, shop at McBain Camera!
